Necker Island, British Virgin Islands – YouTube royalty has officially tied the knot. MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, married fellow content creator Thea Booysen in an intimate 70-guest ceremony on Sir Richard Branson’s exclusive Necker Island during the week of July 14. The week-long celebration, which included kitesurfing, snorkeling, and feeding the island’s wildlife, culminated in a heartfelt ceremony that the bride described as “heaven.”
Despite his reputation for outrageous stunts, the 28-year-old YouTuber had long expressed a desire for a low-key wedding. Following his proposal in December 2024, MrBeast told People magazine, “This will definitely be more family and friends—definitely more private. I don’t take much vacation because of how hard I work, so I definitely want to make sure that the wedding will be a time to celebrate with her.” The couple’s vision for a private celebration came to life, with Booysen, also 28, wearing a lacy Nicole + Felicia Couture gown, while the groom sported a cream and black Ralph Lauren tuxedo.
“We were so happy, and there was so much love,” Booysen told People after the nuptials. “We work a lot and don’t get to be around all our friends and family, so to have everyone in one place was really special.” The couple is already planning to make the group getaway an annual tradition. “We decided we want to start doing something like this every year,” Booysen added, “where we put aside a week to have our friends and family join us.”
The wedding marks a significant personal milestone for the digital creator, who has built a massive following through his philanthropic and often extreme YouTube content. The choice of Necker Island, owned by Virgin Group founder Richard Branson, added an exclusive and picturesque backdrop to the celebration, reflecting the couple’s desire for a memorable yet private start to their married life.
