Mumbai, India – As ‘Lock Upp 2’ gears up for its grand finale, one eliminated contestant continues to dominate the conversation. Content creator Apoorva Mukhija, popularly known as The Rebel Kid, has made a startling revelation about her stint on the reality show, claiming that creating drama and sparking conflicts was not a personal choice but a paid assignment. In a series of Instagram Stories from her vacation in Ibiza, Apoorva opened up about the backlash she received, her contractual obligations, and the real reason behind her controversial behavior inside the house.

Apoorva, who entered the show as the Jailor’s informer, quickly became a polarizing figure, known for instigating arguments and confrontations. She now reveals that she was contractually bound to remain silent about her role until after her elimination was broadcast. “Tum logon ne mujhe itni zyada gaali di hai and I couldn’t post because I was under contract ki I can’t show that I am out of the show. Mera kaam tha ungli karna, mera kaam tha jaake logon se ladayi karna (You all abused me so much, and I couldn’t post because I was under contract and wasn’t allowed to reveal that I was out of the show. My job was to go around and pick fights),” she explained.

Addressing the criticism head-on, Apoorva asserted that her primary responsibility was to create conflict among contestants, a task she was paid to perform. “I tried so hard to create conflicts between contestants… Nobody wanted to fight. It was my job, and I got paid to do it. I couldn’t not do it. So, when no one else was fighting, I had to go and fight with people because that usually creates a ripple effect,” she stated. She also denied allegations that she was chasing screen time, arguing that her role as the informer guaranteed her visibility. “Mujhe kisise bhi footage khane ki zarurat nahi hai. Because agar unhone mujhe 5 din ke liye show mein daala hai, to get their cost back, unhe mujhe dikhana padega (I don’t need to chase footage from anyone. Because if they put me on the show for 5 days to get their cost back, they have to show me),” she added.

Summing up her experience, Apoorva declared, “You can love me or hate me. I got my fat cheque, I got my reels, and I’m in Ibiza!” She also revealed her picks for the winner, backing fellow contestants Shreya Kalra and Shilpa Shinde. Hosted by Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan, ‘Lock Upp 2’ features a cast including Ram Kapoor, Harshad Chopda, and Shivangi Joshi, with the winner set to take home a cash prize of ₹1 crore. Apoorva’s revelations have reignited discussions about the scripted nature of reality shows and the extent to which contestants are assigned specific roles to drive drama.
