Shradha Singh’s video comparing RPF uniforms to a toilet cleaner sparked outrage, with users criticizing her apology as insincere
A social media influencer has landed in the middle of a social media storm after a video mocking RPF personnel spread rapidly online. The clip, which many users criticised as disrespectful towards uniformed officers, triggered widespread outrage, forcing the influencer to post apology videos as she claimed she was also receiving abusive messages and threats.
The controversy revolves around influencer Shradha Singh, who shared a video featuring a joke aimed at RPF officers dressed in blue uniforms. In the clip, she said, “Neela wala toilet ke liye,” comparing the officers’ blue uniforms to a toilet cleaner, while referring to herself in red clothing with the remark “Laal bathroom ke liye.” The video quickly spread across social media platforms, drawing sharp criticism from users who accused her of disrespecting uniformed personnel.
The Apology and Reaction
According to Shradha, she realised the mistake soon after posting the clip and removed it within an hour. However, by then, several users and meme pages had already downloaded and reposted the video, allowing it to circulate widely across the internet.
As criticism mounted, the influencer uploaded two apology videos, attempting to explain her side of the story. In one of the clips, she claimed, “Meme pages are sharing my videos coz they are paid.” She also appealed to people to stop abusing and threatening her, saying, “Maine itni bhi badi galti nhi ki hai ki aaplog mujhe gali de.”
Social Media Reactions
The incident gained further momentum after X user @choga_don shared screenshots and clips related to the controversy. The post attracted significant engagement, with users expressing sharply divided opinions over both the original video and the influencer’s apology.
One user criticised her apology, writing, “Now she has taken a u-turn..otherwise whatever she was saying that day is a clear indication of what her parents have taught her…Her parents would also have the same thought process…So one can obliviously call them…anti nationals.”
Not everyone agreed with the outrage. Defending the influencer, another user commented, “She realized her mistake and deleted the video immediately so what’s the outrage about?”
A third user argued that the apology lacked accountability, saying, “Every shitZ makes same excuse they never take responsibility. They will always say other people exaggerated it, made it viral and It was not my intention etc. Your intentions were exactly to go viral then why cry when it does? They should be shamed and punished. No mercy.”
Another user remained unconvinced by her explanation and wrote, “All drama, she is still asking what big mistake she has done, she cannot comment on any individual, she made fun about Public servant, please put her in Jail, she is anti Indian.”
Echoing similar sentiments, one commenter wrote, “These Gen z must be taught a lesson. Gen Z hai to kya bada kam kiya do they have the right to take others to ransome. Such people who do things to gain publicity must be publicly humiliated to give them a taste of their own.”
